To the Question of Minimum Standard Rules for the Treatment of Victims of Crime

Abstract

The article raises a question about the necessity of development of the minimum standard rules of treatment of victims of crime, designated in the Declaration of Basic Principles of Justice for Victims of Crime and Abuse of Power. Further the content and possibilities of implementation of the most important rights of victims of crime are revealed, such as: the right to access the mechanisms of justice and prompt compensation for the harm they have suffered; the right to information about their rights in criminal justice; the right to protection of their personal life when necessary and to ensure their safety as well as the safety of their families and witnesses on their part and their protection against intimidation and revenge.
